Keen Ager's

The Senior Adult (Keen Ager) program  includes forums and presentations in a Christian setting to prepare members and friends for the life of seniors: preparations for retirement; special financial issues facing seniors; relationships with children and other seniors; medical issues; and preparation for and dealing with the loss of loved ones and living with the loss.

There are also inspirational and recreational activities that TLCC provides for its Keen Agers, all those fun loving adults over the age of 50 years young!  This past year we have, thanks to Harris County Precinct 2, traveled to Huntsville, played at the Lone Star Pinball Museum in Hockley, and toured Old Town Spring. The Keen Agers have also enjoyed local Astros games at Minute Maid Park, and the Hometown Opry in Pasadena, TX, which showcases local talent presenting classic country music.

Next Keen Ager Adventure:   Our next trip will be on June 22 when we travel to Houston to see the Holocaust Museum.  It is the fourth largest Holocaust Memorial Museum in the United States and opened in 1996. The museum’s mission is to make people aware of the dangers which prejudice, hatred and violence brought about during the Holocaust. The museum promotes understanding, remembrance and education. It is currently undergoing renovation and will have its grand opening on the day we are scheduled to attend.  Be sure to sign up on the list in the church narthex or call the church office.
